[Video flicks on to show... a much changed Molly Carpenter.  Her hair is purple, and it looks like it's been a while since she had a decent meal or a hot shower.  Maybe a long while.]

Is everything still fucked up around here?  No?  Good.  I'm going to go grab a shower.

[Friends filter]
If you want to talk, give me a half an hour, or you're going to get an eyeful.

[OOC: Yeah, I was so sorry to change her PB, but Mika Boorem doesn't have any look but wholesome and happy, and Molly's just... not there these days.]

[Sorry Molly. Cissie's not even bothering to reply. She is rushing to your room. And will wait outside your door for you while you shower. And when her watch says it's been half an hour, she will knock.]

[Molly should have known that with a return post like that she'd get a knock on her door. She's still drying her hair when she opens it, and she gives Cissie a slight smile.] I thought it might be you. Come on in. [She steps aside so Cissie can come in.]

[Cissie was planning on tackling Molly as soon as the door opened, but her appearance catches her off-guard. It only stops her for a moment, though, and then she's launching herself at Molly anyway.] Are you okay? Where have you been?

[Cissie's exuberance knocks the towel off Molly's hair, and it falls in long, damp purple strands, and she stumbles a little, reaching for a chair to help steady herself.] I'm okay. I was home for a while.

[Cissie hangs on, hugging her tightly.] You died. And then you disappeared. [She stops, choked up, and pulls back to look at her. She stops and reaches to touch Molly's hair.] ...What happened?

What didn't happen? [She gives Cissie a wry smile.] War. Chicago's supernatural community has basically been at war for almost six months. It's been a little rough. [She reaches for the cane that's never very far away and nods toward the couch.] Mind if we sit down?

[Cissie's mouth feels dry and her stomach twists uncomfortably. She swallows, and shakes her head, watching her. It's hard not to stare at the cane.] You... six months? Is that how long you were... Molly...

[goodgrasshopper]

Six months. [She gives a dry laugh.] It feels like a lot longer. Half a lifetime, maybe.

[Cissie swallows and moves to sit on the couch with her.] ...It's only been six days here.

[goodgrasshopper]

[She blinks and frowns a little.] Oh. Huh. I guess Eddie will have more data for his survey, then. [She leans against Cissie.] God, I'm exhausted.

I guess so. [Cissie leans against her in return, resisting the urge to just cling. She does reach for Molly's hand, though.] ...What happened to you?

[Molly squeezes her hand a little.] A lot. Which part?

SPAM

[She frowns and taps Molly's foot with hers.] Let's start with the cane?

SPAM

[goodgrasshopper]

[Molly frowns, too, looking down. She swallows before speaking.] A little girl was kidnapped. Someone wanted to take revenge on her--her family. They were going to use the girl in some seriously dark blood ritual to wipe out the family. We went in to save her. I got shot.

[Cissie squeezes Molly's hand a little tighter and swallows past the lump in her throat.] Shot? Are you... okay?

[goodgrasshopper]

More or less. [slight smile] I have a cane now.

[Eyebrow raise of skepticism.] I see that. It's pretty? ...Is that temporary, or...?

SPAM

[goodgrasshopper]

Hard saying. Wizards heal from almost anything, eventually. It might take a while, but--probably. It's only been six months.

[Cissie relaxes slightly, but frowns. Waaait a second.] ...Are you saying you got shot six months ago?

SPAM

[goodgrasshopper]

Give or take a few days.

[She swallows.] Okay... So what happened after that?

SPAM

[goodgrasshopper]

[Molly closes her eyes, hiding a wince.] Harry died.

SPAM

What? What happened?

SPAM

A sniper. He was alone and... We're not invincible. The best way to take out a wizard like Harry is a high powered rifle at long range.

[Her tone is a little wooden as she says that.]

[Cissie's feeling kind of sick and goes a bit pale. The way Molly died during the flood is still fresh in her mind and the comment about not being invincible doesn't sit well. She turns and pulls Molly into a hug.] Oh, Molly. I'm sorry.
