It looks like you're cleared for the Library. Check in with Chromie when you get there--she wanted to meet you.

[Aaaaand ten minutes later, Molly arrives: cane and all.] I'm going to be pretty glad when I can get around without this thing.

[Martha is already in the infirmary, and she's got the things she needs on a sterile tray covered with a drape cloth. She smiles when she sees Molly and nods.]

Me too. We need to have a game of football.

[Claire comes in at the tail end of Martha's declaration and teases her.] And by football you mean soccer, right?

[Honestly, she thought calling soccer football made more sense and that American football should be called...well, something else. Tossball? Throwball?]

I hope so. I don't think I could manage a touchdown to save my life--not without cheating with illusions and veils, anyway.

Pfft, what you Americans have isn't football, you don't even throw the ball for it. [Martha was clearly teasing back, and she smiled to Claire before brushing her with her elbow.]

Football is much more civilized than rugby.

[One hand was placed on Molly's arm.]

Are you ready?

Hey, I'm just the cheerleader! [She holds up her hands in mock defense as she takes a chair and props up her arm for blood drawing.]

It won't hurt, in case you're worried. Might itch, but you probably won't feel anything at all. [This was Claire's third leg that she would heal on the Barge. House and Bourne preceded Molly.]

Ready as I'll ever be. [She gives Claire a wry smile.] I wasn't really concerned about it hurting--more that it won't work. This isn't a Barge injury, so... I don't know. I'm just a little worried that otherworldly stuff won't work to help.

It worked with House, you know. [Martha said quickly, and with a smile.] And that was worse than yours is. I believe this will work, I really do.

[Claire snorted and nodded her head.] I've brought people back to life before. I think I can handle a leg wound.

[She winked, having no doubts whatsoever. She used to worry that it might wear off here, uncertain no how the Barge worked, but it had never backfired on any of the passengers she had healed before.] Plus, Martha let me heal Edward recently and he had multiple injuries, and he's just fine now.

[She raises an eyebrow.] Seriously? Back from the dead? That... definitely helps with any doubts.

[Martha smiled to both of them, and then she led them into the back surgery.]

Shall we?

[Claire followed, making smalltalk with Molly as she walked.] Stupid question, but does your leg hurt?

[While they made small talk, Martha washed her hands and pulled on gloves, then she looked to the syringe and the antiseptic wipes.]

[Molly gives Claire a wry little grin.] It's not a stupid question. Yes--it does hurt sometimes. Not all the time, but when I'm pushing myself? Yeah.

[She gently touches Molly arm and smiles warmly.] All the more reason we're doing this, then.

[Claire already has her sleeve pulled back for Martha.]

[Martha pulls on her gloves and then she swabs Claire's arm before finding a vein and removing a bit of blood.]

I guess it's my turn. [She moves to push back her own sleeve, then pauses.] Or... Would the leg be better?

[Shakes her head.] Doesn't matter where you inject it, it'll work.

Ready? [Martha asked the question quickly, and she swabbed Molly's arm with the pad before pressing the needle to it.]

[Molly makes a face--needles hurt!] Ow.

[Claire perked up and watched her blood at work, always amazed by it on other people. Within seconds, the regeneration would kick in. In less than minutes, Molly would have a new, shiny leg.]

[Martha pulled the needle after she injected the blood, and then she pressed a bit of gauze on it before she watched.]

[Molly starts to move her leg experimentally, and her eyes widen a little as the pain just... fails to happen.]

Um. Wow.

[Claire made a small noise of approval, sat up straighter, and beamed.] It's never backfired before, but keep me posted, of course.

Thank you, Claire. I mean it. [A pause.] Have you ever done this before on someone with magic?

[Brain wheels turning.]
