[twenty] WONDERTWIN POWERS: ACTIVATE!
[Video comes on to reveal Molly and Cissie sitting next to each other on Molly's bed. Their posture is the same, and they're in almost the same position on the bed. They are wearing identical expressions of weariness and resignation.]
Is anyone else getting really tired of this flood? [Molly's voice is utterly unamused.]
Because we are so ready for this to be over. [Cissie's tone is eerily like Molly's.]
Knowing everything someone thinks--
--is really over-rated. There are some things you just--
--don't want or need to know. Even when it's--
--one of your closest friends. Will someone please come and distract us from each other? [When they speak together their voices have the exact same tone and inflection.]
[OOC: Molly and Cissie are stuck together, like the proximity flood--which is what they thought this was at first. And then they realized they could read each others' thoughts. All of each others' thoughts. And they couldn't turn it off. They're in each others' heads, and in each others' dreams, and are really looking forward to having a little space again.]

[OOC: He is certainly welcome to try, but... Sara and I are mean. They're stuck with each other until the flood's over.]

...and I hear what she's thinking.
[At that, Cissie drops her hands and gives Molly a slightly desperate look, blushing deep red.] I'm sorry! It's not my fault! He said talked about distraction, I can't help what my brain does with that!
[And now Molly is blushing, too.]

I can't be that terrible, Molly.

[Cissie groans and hides her face again.]

[Cissie is beside her. Facepalming.]

Then he can't figure out why they all start running off instead of playin' along with him.
Why did they run off?
They put a local cop, [God, gotta make up a name. But not the actual name.] Darrell, on the case and he just thought it was superstition. He didn't put too much stock in it. It was still a story that made him uneasy. He'd been attacked by a bird defending its nest as a kid. You know how if you don't like spiders and you don't like to hear stories about waking up in the middle of the night to find a wad of tiny ones in the corner? That was about his reaction, even if deep down in his head he knew that the whole thing was implausible as hell.
So he goes to investigate, and while he's questioning the family of the boy, another man shows up. An out of towner that he's never seen before, in an expensive car and he has an FBI badge. [Um... another name. You know what, Fuck Cooper for that Kevin Brown thing! He'll use his name.] Introduces himself as William Green. And he's there to look into this "Ravening Man" crap too.
[Molly frowns slightly.] What is The "Ravening Man?"
What happened to the boy? [Cissie is frowning, too.]
Darrell still thought it was a load of bullshit and they were pulling a trick on him, but then the guy from out of town took it dead serious. It got the local man curious enough that he asked for the fed to give him a ride back to town, even though there was something about this stranger that really, really put him off.
On their way back to town, the fed starts telling Darrell a story. About how a long time ago, there was a battle at Fort Pitt, and how the local Natives had a sort of tribal spirit. The equivalent of a dryad. It was their good luck charm during battle, but only the chief could call upon it. He sorta just snorted at the stranger, [And his tone goes down a bit.] but then the other guy started in on another story. About a little boy that was playing in the woods, and about how a mother bird flew in his face and scared him away. A story that no one else should have been there to see.
The cop demanded to know just how this complete outsider could know that, and FAH! [Hands suddenly flared like spread wings over the camera views!] Black wings filled the windshield!
That was... completely awesome. [Molly grins.]
