[Cissie was in the gym, or Molly wouldn't have been able to slip the note under the door without getting caught. She came back to her room to find Tibs batting the envelope across her floor. She read the note and checked the network, hoping there wouldn't be anything there--but of course there was.

Cissie ran all the way to level seven, to Molly's room, and stopped there. The door was already back to Barge standard. She was too late. She knocked anyway, and went inside when there was no answer. The room was empty and dull, and showed no evidence that anyone had ever lived there. Cissie just sat down on the floor in the middle of the room, and stayed there for a while]
